Shirley Glay Penn Moore, age 78, of Cary, North Carolina passed into glory on June 22, 2013 at 11:56 a.m. She was born on March 25, 1935 to the late Johnson and Mary Penn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. E.C. Moore and her children, Tyrone, Carolyn, Danny and Ronald Drew. Shirley joined the Bold Branch Baptist Church at an early age was educated in Bedford County. She received a degree from Bernadine University, Las Vegas, Nevada in 1978 in Natural Homespathetic Medicine. Upon moving to New York, she joined Universal Church of God serving on the choir and Hostess Committee. She sung on the choir at Holy House of Prayer for All People in New York. While in New York she was employed by Macy's Department Store. She was a Spiritual Mother for the Great Revelation Ministry. She loved good preaching, gospel music and good spiritual conversation. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Marionette (Dennis) Murphy, Bedford, VA, Rev. Vincent (Angela) Moore, Dennis and Michael Moore, Cary, NC, and Sheila (Reginald) Parker, Gwendolyn (Kenneth) Moore, New York, stepson, Jonnie Moore, Norfolk, VA, twenty six grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Beulah Payne, Bedford, VA, Irnishel Drew, Richmond, VA, Eunice (Matthew) Hardeman, Texas, sisters-in-law, Marie Penn, Mildred Midgette, Evelyn Johnson, a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
