Salonya Marsha Evans, 24, of Roanoke, VA departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2019. She was born on September 29, 1994 in Bedford, VA. She was the daughter of Marvin Jones and Katrina Evans.

Salonya was an incredibly intelligent, motivated and positive individual. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and she never met a stranger. Her mission in life was to help others, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, compassion and selflessness.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memories are her precious daughter, Kaydence Evans; two brothers, Trevor Jones and Kyie Jones; three grandmothers, Carolyn Alexander, Sharon (Gary) Steptoe and Annie (James) Brown; great-grandmother, Blanche Spinner; grandfather, Robert (Lisa) Morris; godparents, Mark Kelso and Blanche Kelso; three uncles, Brian Evans, Dexter (Tenecia) Evans and William Jones; two aunts, Felicia Jones and Julie (Kevin) Blake; a host of great-aunts and great-uncles; one nephew and numerous cousins.
