Obituary

Sally Alice Butler Hobson, age 93, departed from life peacefully in the morning on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born on September 2, 1928 to the late Matilda Butler.

Sally was always a person that made friends easily but opted to keep her circle close at heart and guarded.  She met and fell in love with Willie Hobson after he completed his tour of duty in the military.  Later the two would marry and move through life together for over 50 years as husband and wife. It's also during this union that she found and accepted Christ into her life and joined Full Gospel Holiness Church in Montvale, Virginia.  She was a very active member until her health began to impose limits.

Throughout her entire life Sally was a giver.  She gave 100% when she worked as a housekeeper not only to the job itself but to the families she worked for. She also gave 100% in various groups and choirs she sang with.  The Hobson Family Gospel Singers in particular, is where she really shined as the lead vocalist.

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Cynthia Kasey of Harlem, New York, one devoted granddaughter, Lauren (Alphonso) Calloway of Goode, two grandsons, Kevin Kasey of Lynchburg, and Spencer Cherebin of Harlem, New York, seven great grands (and 1 preceded her in death), one brother, Robert Butler of Bedford, two sisters-in-law, Annie Hobson of Lynchburg and Madora Nimely of Roanoke; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
