Mrs. Ruby Delores Smith, age 90 of Bedford, departed this life on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born to the late Clara Bell Ferris and Clairmont Anthony. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Egee Smith and one son Anthony Dean Smith.

Ruby was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church. She was employed by the Bedford County School System in the Nutrition Department. Cooking was Ruby's passion; she could cook anything, and she enjoyed doing so. Her specialty was her delicious fruit cakes.

She is survived by one daughter Jo Clara Smith Blake; two sons Ronald Williams and Brian Smith; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Last, but not least. We would like to thank a dear faithful friend/ Mom's other daughter, Carol Maxine Goode. She was always there when she was needed. We are so appreciative for the love you showed our mother. We love you.
