Rosa Alice Henry departed this life on March 25, 2018.  She was born on January 6, 1932 to the late Minnie Shaffer and Burford Henry in Bedford, VA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Audrey Faye and Darolyn Lisa Martin; two brothers and five sisters.

Alice, as she was affectionately called, joined the Otterville Baptist Church at an early age and later became a dedicated member of Washington Street Baptist Church.  She was faithful in her attendance until her health did not allow her to attend services.

She was a graduate of Bedford Training School.  She was a great seamstress and had a love for fashion. She was a dedicated mother, aunt, and friend who will be missed by many.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Felton Dwayne Martin of Bedford, VA; one sister, Bernice Clark of South Carolina; devoted nephew, Allen (Viola) Henry, a great friend, Jennie Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

God sees and hears the smallest prayers
And He sees no cross to too great to bear.
And though we stumble now and then
He always picks us up again.

His ways are wiser than our own
His strength remains when ours is gone.
We must not doubt or question why,
We'll know the answer by and by.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11am in the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Western Light Baptist Church Cemetery. Upon Ms. Henry's request no public viewing.
