Rodney W. Spinner, age 53, of Big Island, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at his residence.

He was born on July 16, 1963, to Curl W. Spinner and Alice C. Spinner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Spinner. Rodney was a graduate of Jefferson Forest High School and he was retired from the City of Lynchburg.

He leaves to cherish his memories of thirty years his "honey bun", Dawn Duff. He is survived by two sisters, Robin Richie (Henary) of Lynchburg, Va., and Michelle Spinner (Jeff Young) of Big Island, Va.; three brothers, Tony Spinner (Linda) of Goode, Va., Eddie Spinner of Troutville, Va., and Billy Spinner (Madeline) of Baton Rouge, La.; a devoted family friend, Robert Durant; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Emily Jenkins, Dr. Angela Brady, Centra Hospice of Bedford and the employees of the City of Lynchburg.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016, in the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Island, Va. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 30, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Bedford Funeral Home. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home.
