Mr. Robert Butler, Sr. age 91, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1932 to the late Matilda Butler. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Macie T. Butler; daughters Sherry Butler and Kelly Hennessy; sisters Sally Hobson and Mary Butler.

He is survived by his son, Robert N. Butler, Jr. of Evington, VA; stepson, Sidney A. Thomasson of Goodview, VA; grandsons, Sherrod D. (Jenny) Butler, Sr. of Lexington, VA and Tierre A. McGinnis of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter, Farah Hennessy of Roanoke, VA; great grandchildren Sherrod D. Butler Jr. of Lexington, VA, Kyla Butler of Lynchburg, VA, Desirae Butler and Ebony Butler both of Lexington, VA; sister-in-law, Mildred Smith; brother-in-law, Bobby Thomasson; son-in-law, Joseph Hennessy all of Roanoke, VA; a host of other relatives and friends.
