Obituary

Mr. Raymond Murphy Trent, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. After battling his illness for years, God in his infinite wisdom called him home to rest. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond M. Trent, Sr. and Edith Priscilla Trent; one sister, Cynthia Campbell and his mother-in-law, Brenda Holland.

A native New Yorker, Ray accepted Christ at an early age. Upon moving to Virginia, Ray joined Western Light Baptist Church and was an active member until his health declined. He loved the music ministry and sang and played bass guitar in the church choirs.

Ray was a mechanic by trade and was affectionately known as "Auto Doc". He quickly became known in the area as a reliable and affordable asset to the community.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Holland Trent; one daughter, Ebonie Trent (Dennis Woody); two sons, Raymond Trent and Deshawn Trent; one niece, Nyasia Campbell; and a special cousin/brother, Clifton Trent (Alesia). He also leaves behind a host of family and friends.
