Goode
Raymond Elwood Bryant, Sr. affectionately known as "Porkchop", gently passed away at his home on March 13th, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 19, 1948, Raymond was the son of the late Constance Wanda Bryant and James Lowry Sr. He now joins his parents in eternal peace, along with his brothers Jerald Lowry and George Lowry.
Raymond was a proud graduate of Susie G. Gibson High School, Class of 1966. He loved his family, every single one of them and enjoyed being a grandpa & great grandpa. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, and never missed a chance to stop in any parking lot to catch up with someone he hadn't seen in a while. Raymond never met a stranger and relished every opportunity to share his wisdom with those who would listen.
Raymond's legacy lives on through his children Shawn Webb, Zach Webb (Sydney), Ryan Webb (Melissa), Reggie Bryant, Belinda Marble (Norman), Cedric Bryant, Raymond Bryant Jr., Kim Spinner (John), Kevin Anderson, Brandon Evans and Greg Short; seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; his sister LyVern Robertson (George), his brothers Charles Lowry (Kim), Gary Lowry (LaWanda), Vincent Lowry (Tammy), James Lowry, Jr. (Gina); his aunt Willie Mae Bryant, his close cousins Warren Bryant (Joanne), Iris Nash (James), Deborah Dyke, Cynthia Smith (Vince), Michelle Patterson (William), Kathy Johnson, Kenneth Bryant (Trina), Marian Bryant (Russ); and a multitude of other cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Bedford Funeral Home in Bedford, VA. for their compassionate assistance during this difficult time. Raymond's life filled with love and wisdom, will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him, love him, and call him a friend.
