Peggy Steptoe, age 58 of Bedford, lost her fight against covid-19 on January 10, 2021. She was strong and held on long enough to be surrounded by her children and her pastor, before she went quietly to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born in Bedford, VA on May 23, 1962 to the late Lillie Butler and Kiah Steptoe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Steptoe Moon and her brother, Calvin Ray Steptoe.

Peggy was a loving nurturer to all she encountered; she was as kind as they come. She would brighten up any room with a single note of her signature boisterous laugh. Peggy was quick to care and never judged anyone on their past mistakes, but saw the potential to do good in all people. She was a bright light in a world submerged in darkness. Peggy will be dearly missed by her family, her loving church family at Cool Springs Pentecostal Church in Thaxton and also her friends.

She is survived by her partner, Leonard Dooley; her children: son, Drew Steptoe (fiancée, Taylor Orlanes), daughter, Tiffany Steptoe (fiancé, Ryan Isom); grandchildren, Jarius Steptoe, Serenity Steptoe and Daphne Isom; sister, Mary Frances Steptoe; niece, April Steptoe; other relatives and friends.
