Peggy Jean Hurt a life-long resident of Bedford Va., went home to be with the lord Saturday, April 3, 2021. Peggy is preceded in death by Gracie N. Hurt (Mother), Hubert Hurt (Father); Nelson R. Hurt Sr. (Brother); Tondylia Hurt (Niece); Nelson R. Hurt, Jr (Nephew).

She was a graduate of Susan B. Gibson High School. Devoting her time and caring for others she spent 27 years plus working at the Elks Home. Peggy had a passion for football, and was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. Most importantly she loved being accompanied by family. Her smile could brighten up anyone's day, and her funny; jokingly sense of humor always kept you laughing. Mrs. Hurt spent the past years residing at Bedford County Nursing Home, where she received assistance, passion, and care.

She is survived by Dean C. Hurt (Son), Candace (Wife); Amanda M. Arnold, Blake L. Hurt (Granddaughters); Doritha Hurt (Sister-in-law); Janet L. Poindexter (William) Niece; Tony D. Hurt (Jody) Nephew; Doris Hurt (Niece In Law), including a Host of Great Nieces and Nephews, and host of Cousins.
