Mr. Nathaniel Louis Richie departed this life at 7:48 am on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his daughter's residence, in Bedford, VA.

He was born in Bedford, VA, on December 5, 1935 to the late Charlie Richie and Susie Hall Richie.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers: Jessie (Lucille), James, Charlie Jr., and Robert Richie, three sisters;  Bertha (Alonzo) Minnis, Ophelia (Sam) Cook and Viola (Claude) Mitchell. Brothers-in-law; David Wheaton, Morman Wright, Otha Wright and Roy (Lillie) Blake.  Sisters-in-law; Sylvia Wright, Ophelia Brown (Roger) Thomas, Geraldine (Wille) Parker, son-in-law; Randy Parker, stepson; Michael Brawley and a special friend, Ethel Goode.

Nathaniel worked at Rubatex Corporation for many years.

He leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, the mother of his children, Laura Wright Richie, his children;  Carolyn, Larry Sr. (Cynthia), Linda, Frederick, Anthony, Karen, Kevin, Evangeline, Gregory.  His stepchildren; Harold, Raymond (Sabrina), Gloria (Derrick), Michelle (Garnell), his brother Sam (Veronica) of Washington, DC, two sisters, Frances Wheaton of Bedford, VA and Mary (Joseph) Smith of Maryland. His grandchildren; Donald (Gina), Kristy (Jarret), Twanisha (Leonard), Chad, Larry Jr., Kristian (Sophie), Kendrick, Phillip Jr., Devin, Kiana, Justin, Alyssa, Alexis, Jayden, Yasmin, and Taja. Great grandchildren; Tatyana, Chad Jr., K'Ron, Shania, Latrell, Amiyah, Elijah, Layla, Tiara, Kiara, Damari, Khamani, Libya-Infiniti, Cattleya, Maurice, MaKayla and Anayia.  Two sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Glen) Brown and Olivia Wright. One brother-in-law; Melvin Wright and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
