Milven D. Turner, age 74, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on October 10, 1942 to the late Walter Turner and Virginia Mann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Turner and sister, Millicent Turner.

"Ms. Dee" and "DeeDee", as we affectionately called her, joined the Haven of Rest United Pentecostal Church in 2007 and was a very faithful servant. She served the church in many capacities including ordained Deaconess, choir member, pastor aid, transportation, church fashion show model, program committee, cast member in church plays and cook. She was sharp dressed, loved purple, loved to laugh and loved to travel with the church and attended many services, concerts and church conferences. She loved her granddaughters and gave them a solid foundation in church and kept them active during their youth.

She leaves to cherish her memory two granddaughters, Virginia Delores Turner and Clarise Linda Turner; step-daughter, Thomasina Ellis-Hildalgo; three sisters, Patricia Green of Richmond, VA, Jennifer Turner of Richmond, VA, and Agatha Snell of Atlanta, GA; her favorite cat, Snowball; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Haven Of Rest United Pentecostal Church (515 Otey St. Bedford, VA 24523.) Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (Body Camp Community.) The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
