Ms. Mikiesha Shana'e Staples, age 25 of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born on June 27, 1996 in Bedford. Mikiesha was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gary Jones; niece, Na'zar Turner and uncle, Lorenzo Crider.

Mikiesha accepted Christ at a young age and joined New Mercy Church under the leadership of Pastor Timothy Waldren. She was a graduate of Liberty High School in Bedford.

Characteristics that describe Mikiesha are: loving, caring, compassionate, joyful, spiritual, encouraging but most of all she was courageous. After battling cancer for a while, she never complained. Mikiesha had a heart of gold, and she was always concerned about the wellbeing of those she loved; in spite of what she was going through. She sowed into those around her with a kind word, her positive outlook or just being a listening ear. Mikiesha will definitely be missed by those who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Those left to cherish Mikiesha's precious memory are: her mother, Christy Elliott (Keith); father, Micky Crider; sisters, Delashia S. Staples and Kylia Burdette; brother, Tyrin Martin; niece, Ne'ora Turner; maternal grandmother, Theresa G. Staples; paternal grandparents, George and Gusta Crider; aunts Lanette Crider, Beatrice Staples, Melissa Richardson and Cheria Taylor (Ricky); uncles Gerry Staples (Yolanda), Terry Staples (Tyrrea), Clyde English (Courtney), Reggie Jones and Jason Crider; a host of great aunts and  great uncles; a loving great-great uncle William "Bill" Jones; great-great aunt, Lorraine Jeanette Calloway;  Mikiesha was also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives  and special friends Antonio Clark, Nicole Steven, Myraiah Staples, Endya Smith, Tracinia Ross, Carlisha Harden, Yasmine Robertson, Chanel Elliott and Carol Jones (who was like a grandmother to her.)
