Obituary

On a glorious Monday evening, March 21, 2022, the Lord in His infinite wisdom whispered sweetly to our beloved Mother, Mary Regina Wright Jackson, you've fought the good fight, you have finished the race, come on home now and take your rest.

Regina, or "Margina" as she was affectionately known, was born in Bedford, VA on January 26, 1936 to the late Orville Wright, Sr. and Lucy Hughes Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Arthur Eugene Jackson; one sister, Julia W. Evans; three brothers, Orville Wright Jr. "Brother", James A. Wright "Tad" and Riley H. Wright; and one granddaughter, Amber Dawn Jackson.

Regina was educated in Bedford County Public Schools and graduated from Susie G. Gibson High School in 1954. She was a doting wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Lovely Zion Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess until her health began to fail. In addition, she devoted most of her adult life to Foster Care and Advocacy for the disabled and the mentally challenged. Regina loved life, her family and her church. She will be sorely missed.

She leaves to cherish their memories three daughters, LaWanda J. Lowry (Gary), Lisa J. Gross, Dawn P. Jackson; one son, Mark E. Jackson (Tracey); four grandchildren, Valenchia Givens, Ryan Lowry (Brandy), Anthony Jackson and Maria Jackson; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth W. Scott (Rosella); one sister-in-law, Brinda G. Wright; and a host of other family members and friends.
