Obituary

Martha Robinson Murphy was born December 15, 1941, and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 30, 2012, unexpected by us, but on time by God. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a member of the Antioch Senior Choir and the Willing Workers' Club. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Madge Robinson, five brothers, Albert, Melvin, Frank, John Henry, and Alfred William Robinson, and three sisters, Patsy Robinson, Mary R. English, and Lois R. Eggleston. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 48 years, Robert N. Murphy, who she affectionately called "Murphy", two sons, Quinton L. Murphy and Michael N. Murphy, both of Moneta, VA, three grandchildren, Mikalah Murphy, Michael Turner, and Tyashia Turner; one great grandchild, Alana Turner, one brother, Richard "Dick" Robinson (Ann), four sisters, Bernice Sharpe Blake, Polly Johnson (Oscar), Rosa Carson (Robert), Mrytle Leftwich, all of Bedford, VA, mother-in-law, Lucille Murphy, one daughter-in-law, Teresa Turner, one brother-in-law, Melvin English of Bedford, VA, five sisters-in-law, Brenda, Phyllis, and Marie Robinson all of Bedford, VA, Lena Young and Bernice Holland both of Moneta, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Martha had some special friends that will miss her dearly: Marie Sharpe, Dorothy Polk, Phyllis Otey, Ann Shipp, Frances Nettles and Jean Carter. A soft smile, quiet voice and a humble and patient spirited loved one has left a beautiful legacy for us to remember and cherish all the laughter and warm loving memories we shared.
