Marquita Lee Thompson, age 29, of Bedford went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2020 at her residence.  She was born on September 16, 1991 to Tammy M. Thompson and Vernon Moon.  She was preceded in death by her loving sister, Shante Thompson, grandmother, Mary Lee Thompson, and grandfather, Raymond Starks, all of whom she adored.

Marquita loved the Lord, and was baptized at a young age and joined the Otterville Baptist Church. She graduated from Liberty High School in 2009 and worked at Wendy's and Sonic when she was healthy.  She enjoyed gospel music and especially the awesome singing of her beloved Aunt Jennifer. In addition to gospel music, she enjoyed videos and playing games on her phone, which helped take her mind off of her physical challenges with her health.  Her children, mother, and her niece were her whole world and she cherished them.  She was a great friend to many, and often encouraged others by her determination to press on while dealing with the difficulties with her Lupus diagnosis.

Marquita had a special relationship with her mother, Tammy.  She could count on her when she needed anything. Some of the best times they shared were Sunday afternoons eating out as a family. She will be missed by her family and many friends; however we know that she is resting in the arms of the Lord.

Precious memories of Marquita are left to her beloved children, Mykia and Marzavious Thompson, loving and devoted mother, Tammy M. Thompson, father, Vernon Moon; special niece who was like her own child, Ni'Caela Thompson; four sisters: Charitye Tanner, Veronica Poindexter, Candice Moon and Tynajiah Martin; one brother, Christopher Young; paternal grandparents, MacArthur and Gloria Moon; four uncles: Everette (Betty) Thompson, Jerry (Jennifer) Thompson, Jerome Thompson and Eric Moon; one aunt, Dora Steptoe and one great uncle, Morris Calloway; other relatives and many special friends.
