Macie Arletta Thomasson Butler, age 83, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at her residence. She was born on November 30, 1933 to the late Hubert and Zella Bond Thomasson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Butler.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Robert Butler, Sr.; two sons, Sidney A. Thomasson of Goodview, VA. and Robert N. Butler, Jr. of Evington, VA.; two daughters, Sherry R. Butler of Bedford, VA. and Kelly Hennessy (Joseph) of Roanoke, VA.; three sisters, Mildred (Lonza) Smith of Roanoke, VA., Vida Whorley of Roanoke, VA. and Ora (Mack) Ingram of Goodview, VA.; one brother, Bobby (Roxie) Thomasson of Roanoke, VA; one sister-in-law, Sally B. Hobson of Bedford, VA.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Miss. Mae Thompson and Mr. Harry M. Wright, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Thomasson Family Cemetery. Friends can only view 30 minutes prior to the service.
