Ms. Mabelean Noel, age 68, departed this life on Sunday, May 4, 2025 in Lynchburg, VA. She was born in Bedford, VA on March 9, 1957 to Josephine Johnson Jones and the late Luther Jones. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son Carroll Junior Noel "Big Boy."

Mabelean professed Christ at an early age, and she joined the choir. She loved to sing. At one time, Mabelean and her sisters had a gospel group for several years. Her favorite song was "May the work I've done, speak for me." She was a very outgoing person, who never met a stranger.

She leaves to mourn her loving and devoted son Joshua A. Noel; her mother Josephine Jones; grandson Caleb Noel; great granddaughter Nova Cooke; sisters Patty Bonds (Levi), Peggy Harris (Charles), Dolphine Jones (Curtis) and Gladys Bryant (Greg); daughter-in-law Tina Noel; a special niece and caregiver Stephanie Harris; her ex-husband Carroll Noel; a special friend Ronald Rogers. She is also survived by her aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

God saw the road was getting rough.

The hills too hard to climb.

He gently closed her loving eyes,

and whispered, peace be thine.

Her weary hours, her days of pain,

her sleepless nights are past.

Her ever worn and broken frame,

has found rest, sweet rest, at last.
