Obituary

Littie Mae English, affectionately known as "Shawty," was born on September 21, 1939, to the late John and Loretta Bonds. She peacefully departed this life on August 4, 2026.

Littie accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Emanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she remained an active and devoted member until her health began to decline.

In addition to her parents, Littie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orie English; two sisters, Jimmie English and Robbie English; and one brother, Douglas Bonds.

Littie opened her heart as a nanny and babysitter to numerous families beyond her own. Through her kindness, patience, and unwavering love, she helped shape the lives of many children who grew into outstanding adults. Her legacy and wisdom, will continue to live on in every life she touched.

Left to cherish Shawty's precious memory is her very special sister, Molly Bonds and niece, Monica Rogers both of whom she loved as daughters; two beloved grandchildren, Jadaya Rogers ("Sissy") and Cameron Thomason ("Cam") of Moneta; six sisters: Irene Mayo, Lucy Kasey, Shirley Bonds (Wayne), Carolyn Jones, Molly Bonds, and Brenda Bonds, all of Moneta; two brothers, Lee Bonds and Lendale Bonds, both of Moneta; one sister-in-law, Pam Bonds of Stewartsville; four God children: Michelle Bonds, Dale Harper, Alisha Eggleston, and Jamison Taylor, special nieces, Shirleen Martin, Debra English and Joanne Brake; and her devoted friends, Minister Carolyn Eggleston, Stacy English, and Ronnie Miller.

Although she had no biological children, Littie devoted her life to nurturing and caring for the children of others. She played a significant role in raising many of her nieces and nephews & loved each of them as though they were her own children. Following the passing of her sister, Jimmie, Littie became especially instrumental in the lives of Jimmie's children and grandchildren: George English, Jerry English, Jeff English, and Victoria Harper.

She is also lovingly survived by the many children she cared for as an honorary grandmother & babysitter who remained a cherished part of her life long after they grew up (Alexis Berger, Afton Burdette, Zachary Bowyer, Ajah Wright, and David Kasey)

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank you to Shawty's devoted caregivers—her sister, Lucy Kasey; her beloved grandchildren, Cam and Sissy; for the loving, attentive, and compassionate care they provided and her niece, Monica Rogers for all of her special love, care, and dedication until shawty's final breath.

The family also wishes to express sincere appreciation to Paul Roach, the Royal Medical Transport team (Yvonne Cochran and Kamal Muhammad) and the dedicated staff of Blue Ridge Dialysis Center for their exceptional care, kindness, and support.
