Leroy William Calloway, age 69, formerly of Forest, VA, departed this life in Landover, MD on Friday, January 26, 2018.He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert R. Calloway and Irene A. Austin; and one brother, Randolph H. Austin (Randy).

Leroy graduated from Susie G. Gibson High School in 1967 Cum Laude. He then attended college at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. After which he was employed by the United States Postal Service for over thirty years. Upon retirement he worked as a baker for Giants Food Exchange for ten years. He was an active member in Masonic Lodge #9 in Landover,MD.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Maxine L. Goode (Elmer) of Charlotte, NC, Gaynelle C. Creasy of Lynchburg, VA and Estelle Slaughter of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Mack L. Calloway of Evington, VA; four nieces, Lenore Moss (Cedric) of Tampa, FL., Teresa A. Goode of Dallas, TX., Kelli Slaughter and Kasi Slaughter, both of Pittsburg, PA.; one nephew, Elmer J. Goode of Charlotte, NC; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1pm at St. John Baptist Church in Forest, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may view on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 1-8pm at the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel.
