Lawrence Marshall Harris, age 62,of Bedford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 12, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Marshall was born on August 29, 1950 in Claremont, NC to the late John Harris, Jr. and Classie Mae Cornelius Harris. One sister, Mary Rose Woods, and two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Lynch preceded him in death. Marshall worked many years at Longwood Industries and enthusiastically volunteered for the Bedford City Police Department. Marshall never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a warm smile and loving embrace. Marshall is survived by his devoted brother and sister in law, Johnnie (Blanche) Harris of Bedford, VA, two brothers, Christopher Harris and Timothy Woodliff of Roanoke, VA; two devoted nieces, Johnay Harris-Goode and Tiffany Harris, and one devoted nephew, Johnathan Harris all of Bedford, VA; one uncle, Robert Harris Sr. of Bedford, VA; two aunts, Josephine James of Claremont, NC and Marie Harris Sharpe of Bedford, VA; one brother in law Odis Woods of Claremont, NC, and a host of other nieces and nephews. Marshall had many devoted friends and employees at the Bedford Group Home, whom he adored.
