Kathy R. Chaney, age 58, of Emporia, Va., formerly of Goode, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was born on March 4, 1958 to the late Reuben E. Fuqua and Nannie B. Fuqua. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother, James Oneil Fuqua.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband: William "Artie" Chaney; her loving daughter, Laura Barksdale;  two grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson and Sianah Reid; five siblings, Chester, Kenny, Cynthia, Della and Regina; four aunts, Virgie Craighead, Mary Brown, Deloise Bradley (Carl), Ilene Pannell; nine nieces and nephews, Shannon, Erica, Tiffany, Carrie, Claire, Tremane, Kristopher, Kameron, and Joshua; a host of other very special relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in  the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery (1081 Cannery Rd. Goode, Va.)
