John Erving Cunningham, age 68, of Greensboro, NC was born on October 28, 1945 in Washington, D.C. to the late Willie Cunningham and Elenora Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wonetta Sims Cunningham and his sister, Mary E. Harris. John accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Zion Baptist Church in Bedford, VA. He was educated in Bedford County and completed his education after moving to Greensboro, NC. Upon receiving his GED, he was awarded a certificate of achievement for being the best reader in his class.
