Mr. John Edward Calloway, age 86 of Bedford departed this life on April 8, 2021. He was born on July 22, 1934 to the late Mamie Staples and Otha Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Annie Johnson, Geraldine Jones, Hilda Snead, Pauline Staples, Ora Woolfolk, Doris Calloway and Hertha Lou Staples and one brother, Arthur Staples.

John was employed for several years at Gunnoe's Sausage Company.

He is survived by two brothers, Haywood Calloway and Frances Miller Staples; life long companion, Mary "Liz" Flood; eight step children; and a host of nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
