Joe E. McDowell, age 53, of Monroe, VA died May 29, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Sgt. 1st Class William Clayton McDowell. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ginny McDowell, two sons, Joeé McDowell (Dixie)and Jesseé McDowell (Tammy)both of Gladstone, VA; his mother, Erna Ann McDowell (Roy Brockman) of Valdosta, GA, one brother, Johnny McDowell, two sisters, Marika Reyna (Garland) and Jannette Bennett (Cliff) all of Brunswick, GA; mother-in-law, Jean (Eddie) Branham of Monroe, VA, brothers-in-law, Frank McGurer (Pam) of Middleburg, FL, Bobby McGurer (Ann) of Madison Heights, VA, Roy Hutto (Lisa) of Bryceville, FL; sisters-in-law, Gail Forbes (Mike) of Jacksonville, FL, Grace Branham (Dale) of Monroe, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Amherst County in William's name.
