James Edward Moon 80, of 3240 Shingle Block Rd transitioned from earth to glory on April 19, 2024. James was born February 25, 1944 in Bedford County, VA to the late Willie Moon Sr and Isabell Brown Moon. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Stella M. Lee.

His profession was his hobby, cutting wood. He also enjoyed fishing and attending drag races.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-three years Shirley Hurt Moon; daughter Cassandra (Casey) of Norfolk, VA; one grandchild Gabrielle; two great grandchildren Tai"Jan and Giche"; two brothers Willie Moon Jr (Phyllis) and Carl Moon of Lynch Station, VA; four sisters Florice MCcaster of Richmond, VA, Ruth Robinson (James) of Altavista, VA, Joyce Hale (Jessie) of Birmingham AL, Evelyn Davis (Alfred) of Gretna, VA.; brother-in-law James Lewis Hurt; and a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Go rest high on that mountain.
