James Lewis "Jimmy" Miller, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 24, 2023 at his home in Bedford, VA.  He was born on November 27, 1948, in Bedford, VA to the late Frank and Frances Miller.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin Miller and Frank "Squeaky" Miller.; sister, Loretta Miller; son, James Lewis Miller III; daughter, Frances Elizabeth Carper who was the apple of his eye.

Jimmy was a retiree from Rubatex Textile Industries in Bedford and kept himself busy with a part-time job at Lowes during his retirement. To know Jimmy was to absolutely love him, a rose with a few thorns, a gentle giant, and an invite for a meal on a full stomach. Jimmy was an avid Washington "Redskins" fan, who still referred to them as such even after the name change. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Left to celebrate and honor his memory are his six children, Annette Reynolds, Jaqueline Rice (Eddie), James Lewis Miller Jr, Kevin Miller (Lakeysha), Faith Pollard, and Kisha Pollard; ten grandchildren, Brandon Miller, Davon Miller, Kiona Miller, Jessica Jennings, Quintan Miller (Megan), Kyairrah Miller, Jordan Hunter, Shaquoya Clark, Nevaeh Miller, and Heaven Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Polk, Georgia P. Spinner, Irene Watts, Blanche Harris (Johnny), Debra Clark (Frank) and Dede Williams; two brothers, Donald Miller (Jacqueline) and Ronnie Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

You called me when you need me, I always answered,

I called you when I thought you needed me too.

I will be known by many names-

James, Jimmy, Jim, daddy, granddaddy, friend,

But the ONLY thing I need you to remember is-

that my love for you has no end!
