Howard Rufus Spinner's Obituary
Howard Rufus Spinner, also known as "Mutte", age 73, of Bedford, Virginia peacefully departed this life on Friday, June 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born on September 11, 1944 to the late William Monroe and Irene Harris Spinner. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Spinner (Rebecca); three sisters, Mary B. Harris, Kathleen Spinner, and Arlene N. Harris; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Brown; and one brother-in-law, Howard Brown.
Howard retired from Golden West Foods after 48 years of dedicated service. He always provided transportation for his coworkers to and from work. Howard was the type of person that you could call on in the middle of the night. He was a good and kind-hearted man, a man of Faith, devoted to his family and a friend you could count on. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife of 51 years, Ethel Veronica Wright Spinner; two daughters, Melissa Spinner and Kim Spinner, both of Bedford, VA; a step-son, Timothy Wright and a step-daughter, Delois Wright, both of Bedford, VA; three brothers, Leroy (Claudine) Spinner of Dale City, MD, James Spinner, and Bobby (Ruby) Spinner, all of Bedford, VA; two sisters who were reared with him, Ruth Ann (John) Darby and Jeraline (Eugene) Payne of Forest, VA; a host of grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; many loving nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends, including two devoted friends, Robert "Blimp" Wright and Oscar "Rooster" Blake.
Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys, different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay . . .
Our destination is a place, far greater than we know,
For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward.
And find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 13 , 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Rock Baptist Church (8381 Charlemont Rd. Goode ,Va.) Interment will follow in the church cemetery . Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends can view on Tuesday from 1-8 pm at the funeral home.
