Emory Uttal Austin, age 62 of Evington, departed this life on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Lynchburg, VA on February 24, 1957 to Mrs. Eva Austin and the late Deacon Paul L. Austin. In addition to his father; he was also preceded in death by his brother, Deacon Wayne L. Austin.

Emory was educated in the Bedford County School system, where he attended Jefferson Forest High School. He then went on to serve in the United States Army. Emory later attended Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) in Lynchburg, VA. Emory was a member of the Mt. Plain Baptist Church. Although, he did not attend church every Sunday, he would always tell his mother "Mama, I pray everyday." Emory loved football and was a die hard Washington Redskins Fan. He also enjoyed racing and was a devoted drag racer.

Emory leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Kevin Jones (Carrington); two daughters, Kamesha Jones (Maurice Hunt) and Kanika Jones (Lorenzo Alexander); seven grandchildren: Keyairra, Makayla, Kassidy, Kaniyan, Kayclence, Trey and Kerighan; mother, Mrs. Eva Austin; his loving and devoted partner of 39 years, Francine Jones; two aunts, Mrs. Lillian Rhodes and Ms. Cornelia Burkart; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
