Elna Louise Bright Turner, age 74 departed this life on May 27, 2015 at Oakwood Manor in Bedford, VA. Elna was born August 6, 1940 to the late Terry and Edith Gilmore Bright. She was the foster daughter of Julius and Ella Mae Cook of Bedford, Va. Elna attended school in Bedford County and she joined the Washington St. Baptist Church at an early age where she was Jr. and Sr. Usher. She was a faithful member in her attendance until her health began to fail her in 2013. She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter Stacey Wright, one brother Terry Bright, two aunts, Gertrude Steptoe and Anna Mae Gilmore "Pinky", her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Leroy and Anna turner, brother-in-law, Clifford Wayne Turner. Elna leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Carlton R. Turner, Sr., stepson, Carlton Turner, Jr., two stepdaughters, Thrisha Turner of Plainfield, NJ and Carla Williams of Alexandria, VA; a devoted and loving grandson, Zjion Wright; two additional grandsons, Cameron and Kendall Turner; one sister, Roberta Bright of New York, two half sisters, Linda Jackson Alexander and Christine Jackson Turner; one half brother, Donald Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Leroy and Dennis Turner; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Halsey, Geronda Hale, and Carolyn Hale. She had a very special caregiver, Porscha Wright; many loving friends which included her church family at Washington St. Baptist Church, special loving friends, Inez Nelms, Florence Spinner, Minister Hazel Thomas, Mattie Turner, and Glenora James; many other relatives and friends.
