Edward J. Thompson, age 57,  departed this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital, Bedford, Virginia. He was born May 25, 1959 to his parents, Raymond Starks and the late Mary Lee Thompson. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia H. Thompson; and niece, Shante' Thompson.

Edward accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Otterville Baptist Church. He was also employed at Webster Brick Yard until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Raymond R. Starks; three brothers, Everett E. Thompson (Betty); Jerry L. Thompson (Jennifer); and Raymond J. Thompson; one sister, Tammy M. Thompson; one aunt, Verlie Mae Thompson; a devoted friend, Elaine Coles; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
