Dorothy E. Carson age 72, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was born on July 6, 1943 to Louise High and the late Emmit Steptoe.

In addition to her mother; she is survived by one daughter; Wanda (Noah) Clark; two sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Carson and Reggie (Carolyn) Carson; ten grandchildren: Louisa Carson, Ashley Clark, Brian Carson, Briana Carson, Jason Poindexter, Justin Poindexter, Julian Poindexter, Dreamer Pullen, Jeff Brown and Jackie Carson; three brothers: William (Jackie) Carson, Robert (Rosa) Carson and Wesley Carson; five sisters: Edna Bryant, Evelyn (Sanders) Floyd  , Diane Arrington, Audrey (Alonza) Jackson and Nanny Pritchett; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00pm at New Life Baptist Church (2000 McGhee St. Bedford, VA.) Interment will follow at  Fairmont Cemtery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at New Life Baptist Church. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home.
