Dorothy Lee Arrington, age 76, of Bedford, departed this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Lewis Gale Medical Center. She was born on January 20, 1943 to the late Herman R. Forrest and Margaret B. Forrest. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Forrest; brother, Thomas R. Forrest; and a nephew, Gary E. Blake.

She joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age; where she served as a member of the Choir, Sunday School Teacher, Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Chosen Gospel Singers, Women's Day Leader and later, Mother of the Church.

Dorothy was affectionately known as "Dot." She was a happy, loving and kind person who always had a smile. She loved church, flowers, friends and family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Margaret D. Blake; a god-sister, Mae Charlene Langhorne; two special nephews, Ricky Blake and Thomas Forrest, Jr., all of Bedford; a special niece, Debbie Forrest of Havelock, NC; three special cousins, Linda Nelms, Nancy Reed and Daniel Nelms all of Bedford; one aunt, Betty Rhodes of Huddleston; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Swain; a devoted friend, Ruby Carson both of Bedford; other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
