Donna P. Goode was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023. She was born in Bedford, VA to the late Bertha and Garland Preston on January 1, 1948. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Goode, her son Darrell Haynes, and great granddaughter Aurora Hunter.

Donna attended Bedford County Public School where she graduated from Susie G. Gibson in 1966. Donna was a hard worker and a great seamstress. She had a special place in her heart for people with disabilities and special needs. She loved teaching them to do the things that others told them that couldn't do.  She worked with them at Longwood Industries as the sewing supervisor for 30 years. That was an accomplishment that she was very proud of.

She is survived by her daughters Dawndrell Dooley and Shawndrell Haynes; daughter-in-law Shamere Haynes; siblings Darlene Yarbrough, Raymond Preston, Priscilla (Warren) Ray, Tazwell Preston, Delores (Joe) Harris, William (Lorraine) Preston, Ethelda (Johnny) Davis, Derwin (Sabrina) Preston, Ronald (Karen) Preston,  and Donald (Debbie) Preston; grandchildren Kamera English, SharDaja Haynes, Cory English Jr., Darius English, Josiah Ross, and Kashoun Ross Jr.,; great granddaughters Keyarie English and Nyara Hunter, and other nieces, nephews, and friends.
