Obituary

Quietly on May 7, 2015 our Heavenly Father called Delmar Leon Jackson, Sr. home to rest at his residence in Forest, VA. He was born on June 8, 1936 in Bedford County, VA to the late William B. and Julia Harris Jackson. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Hurt Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William B. Jackson, Jr. and Albert L. Jackson. Delmar was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry-Lower Basin and was employed by Haller Clock in Forest, VA. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and all those who knew and cared about him. Delmar leaves his legacy to his children, Delmar L. Jackson, Jr. (Pamela) Roanoke, VA; Peggy Jackson-Read (Arthur) Chesapeake, VA; Zelma Morgan (John) Chesapeake, VA; Joan Jackson Bristow, VA; and Tracy Jackson Forest, VA. He also leaves to cherish his memory a daughter-in-law, Penny Jackson, Danville, VA; two grandchildren, Jamaal Jackson (Porshia) Roanoke, VA and Lauren Jackson Danville, VA; three great-grandchildren, Alexia, Caroline, and Grace Jackson all of Roanoke, VA; two sisters, Jean Rose and Ann Carrington (Doug), both of Forest, VA; one brother, Lawrence Jackson (Virginia) Washington, DC; a special friend, Mrs. Virginia Spinner; four sister-in-Iaws, Carolyn Jackson, Margaret Rixey, Geneva Payne, and Sarah Hurt; one brother-in-law, George (Harriett) Hurt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special appreciation to Centra Hospice for their assistance. "Let all that you do, be done in love" I Corinthians 16:14
