Dea. Francis N. Spinner, age 85, of Goode, Va, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on October 5, 1932 to the late Dea. Francis T. Spinner and Vea Noell Spinner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Lewis Spinner and three brothers: Jimmy V. Spinner, Melvin B. Spinner and Lloyd M. Spinner; two brothers-in-law, Charles W. Taylor and James R. Mallette.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Florence Spinner of Goode; five sons: Ernest Spinner, Gerald (Tonya) Spinner and David (Joy) Spinner all of Bedford, Joseph A. (Ivy) Spinner of Alexandria and Rodney (Sabrina) Hilber of Durham, NC; two daughters, Emma (George) Hicks of Lynchburg and Shelby (Ron) Bulger of Lantana, FL; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, seven sisters: Inez (Hilton) Jackson of Lynchburg, Jessie Alexander, Frankie Taylor and Virginia Mallette of Goode, Dorothy (John) Spinner of Forest, Nellie (James) Rose of Newport News and Youtha Spinner of Upper Marlboro, MD; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Spinner of Bedford and Geraldine B. Spinner of Goode; one uncle, Dea. Wilma Hall of Bedford; special friends, Norman Leogrande and Rev. Henry A. Henderson; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to all of his children who took turns sitting with him around the clock during his stay in the hospital. To each of you for your comforting prayers, understanding and other acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement. To Centra Lynchburg General Hospital Staff, Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital Staff and all other physicians and caretakers who assisted with their loved one's care during his illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1:00pm at Poplar Spring Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may view on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12-8pm in the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel.
