Darrell Preston
Haynes
Jan 26, 1978 — Jan 24, 2023
Bedford
Mr. Darrell "QT" Haynes was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born in Selma, AL to Donna Goode and the late Charlie Haynes on January 26, 1978. In addition to his father, Darrell was preceded in death by his stepfather Willie Goode, paternal grandparents Robert and Mammie Haynes, Garland and Bertha Preston, and great niece Aurora Hunter.
Darrell accepted the Lord at an early age where he attended Poplar Spring Baptist Church. He attended Bedford County Public Schools where he graduated from Liberty High School. He continued his education and obtained his certifications in brick masonry at The Burton Center for Arts and Technology. Darrell was a skilled craftsman when it came to working with his hands. He worked as a brick mason by trade before he became ill. He worked hard to master his craft and he didn't have any issues letting people know what his accomplishments were.
Darrell was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Everyone knew that he was very sharp with his tongue, but had a heart of gold. He was blessed with a very large family that he loved very much. He always wanted to be present at all family functions. Darrell was especially attached to all the children in the family. Maybe because he was still a big kid at heart, but he took time with them all to let them know that he loved them and that he would always be there for them. Those that knew him were aware that he was a lifelong die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan.
He is survived by his wife Shamere Haynes; daughter SharDaja (Marcellus) Haynes; mother Donna Goode; adopted son Ryan Hogan; father and mother-in-law Howard and Linda Alexander; sisters Dawndrell (Chaun) Dooley, Shawndrell Haynes; sisters-in-law Sabrina (Raymond) Goode, Sanetra (Sammy) Sigei; nieces and nephews Kamera English, Cory English Jr., Darius English, Isaiah Sigei, Iyana Sigei, Josiah Ross, Kasoun Ross Jr., Zion Alexander; and great niece Keyarie English; other relatives and friends.
