Clarence E. Jones, age 83, of Bedford, departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born on July 31, 1933 to the late Otho Jones and Ellen J. Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Percell Jones; and three cousins, Eugene Jackson, Buster Thomas and Mildred Padgett.

Clarence was educated in the Bedford County School System. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was employed at C.B. Fleet Pharmaceutical in Lynchburg; where he retired after many dedicated years of service. Clarence was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church where he served on the usher board and also the Men's Gospel Chorus until his health began to fail.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Pamela Munford (Rodney); a grandson, Avery Lomax; devoted significant other, Carolyn Dudley; his former wife, Odessa Jones; other relatives and friends whom loved him dearly.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11am at the Washington Street Baptist Church (Bedford, Va.) Interment will follow in Fairmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 6-7pm at the Bedford Funeral Home. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home.
