Our beloved Catherine L. Tanner, departed this life at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital on January 2, 2020. She was born on October 16, 1968 to Nell Lena Tanner and the late Lorenza Tanner.

Catherine joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age. She was educated in the Bedford County Public School System of which she graduated from Liberty High School. She then went on to pursue a career at Central Virginia Training School with 30 years of service.

She loved having family and friends around because she was a people person. She loved taking care of her three grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Contrez Graves; grandchildren, Miranda Graves, Contrez Graves Jr. and Ona'layah Graves; mother, Nell Lena Tanner; four sisters, Angela Tanner, Tammy Tanner, Janice Moon and Elaine Alexander; three brothers, Tim Tanner (wife, Brenda), Lorenza Tanner Jr., and Frank Tanner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

if only I could have you back
