Mrs. Brenda Marie Smith, age 77, of Fieldale Virginia peacefully departed this life to be with the lord on October 28,2026. She was born on March 18,1949 to the late Samuel Henry Johnson, Sr. and Bessie Creasey Johnson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters Elizabeth Holt and Frances Smith; and her three brothers Samuel Henry Johnson, Jr. Howard Johnson and James Johnson.

Brenda accepted Christ into her life at an early age and remained in the church until her passing. She was educated in the Bedford County School System and attended Susie G. Gibson High School. She was Employed at JD Bassett for 20 years before going into the role of a caregiver.

Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to play bingo,sewing,going to goodwill :) and spending time at church. She touched the lives of all that met her and her feisty headstrong personality.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memory three children: Ronnie Smith of Fieldale, Virginia; Kathy Meade of Houston, Texas; Vivian Smith of Martinsville, Virginia. Five sisters: Odessa Flood, Barbara Smith, Joyce Johnson, Thelma (Clyde) Patterson all of Bedford, Virginia; two brothers, Charles (Sylvia) Johnson of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Lorenzo (Carol) Johnson of Thaxton, Virginia & Bestfriend Debra Clark of Bedford, Virginia. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
