Bloise Siberia Bryant Banks, age 74, of Bedford, entered into eternal rest after a long illness on Friday, June 16, 2017. She was born on April 24, 1943 in Bedford County to the late Joseph nd Lillie Staples Bryant of Goode. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan W. Banks, Sr.; three sisters, Jean Bryant, Jeannine Snead and Nona Abbott; two brothers, Joseph Bryant and Phillip Hurt; and one grandchild, Kendric Coles.

At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Mount Zion United Methodist Church (Goode, Va.) While a member she sang on the Goode Community Gospel Chorus for many years. Bloise was educated in Bedford County Schools.

She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Jonathan W. Banks, Jr. of Lynchburg, Devon Sutton of Bedford, Kevin Sutton of Bedford, Crystal Bryant of Syracuse, NY and Katherine Pollard of Lynchburg; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, Curtis Bryant (Georgia) of Bedford, James O. Bryant (Hilda) and Percell Bryant (Mary), both of Forest; two sisters, Carolyn Dudley of Goode and Linda Lewis (Frank) of Bedford;  a dear, loving and devoted friend of many years, James "Jimmy" Spinner of Bedford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 12-noon at Washington Street Baptist Church (218 Washington St. Bedford, VA 24523.) Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may view 12-7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
