God's angel came down to Lynchburg General Hospital in search of his celestial choir. He saw that Betty, also affectionately known as "Betty Boo" was ready to be with her loving Savior and whispered "Peace Be Thine". Betty Craighead Holland, age 78, of Bedford, was one of seven children born on April 25, 1936 to the late Bruce and Alma Craighead. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Inez Williams, George Craighead, Gaynell Flood, James Craighead, Mary Parker, Ellen Wills, and one great granddaughter, Ariyonna Marie Foster. Those left to cherish her fond memories are three children, Anthony (Jackie) Craighead of York, PA, Pamela (Raymond) Kasey of Bedford, VA, and William Holland of Brunswick, GA; fourteen grandchildren, La'Toya, Anthony, Richard, Camden, George, Kevin, Blair, Danielle, Lauren, Brandi, Anyia, Christopher, Crystal, and Victoria; seven great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Jackie H. Beale, Gaynell Akerson, and Shirley M. Akers; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty loved her son-in-law, Raymond Kasey and her special niece, Janet and loving great nephew, Robert (Jessica) Forrest and she meant the world to each of them. She was just like a mother to all of her nieces and nephews. In addition, the family is appreciative for the love and professional care provided by her caregiver Summer Daniels (Duck).
