Arlene Nellie Harris, age 67, of Bedford, departed this life on April 22, 2012 in Avante of Lynchburg, VA. Arlene was born August 16, 1944 to the late Arnold Warren Harris and Carrie Louise Spinner Harris. She professed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Rock Baptist Church. There she served faithfully as an Usher, Trustee and enjoyed being a member of the Hospitality Committee. She also attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Arlene attended Susie Gibson High School in Bedford and retired from Brooks Food Group (formerly Golden West Foods), where she was a dedicated employee for many years. She was such a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that had a quiet spirit and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, James Harris (Petra), two daughters, Lisa H. Anderson and Tamika H. Webster (Phillip); seven grandchildren, Alexandria, Mike, Richard, Jenny, Jessica, Amber and Courtney; two brothers, Nathaniel Lewis Harris and Thurman Arnold Harris (Edith); two sisters, Ruth Ann Harris Darby (John) and Jeralene Harris Payne (Eugene); two loving aunts, Irene Harris Spinner and Verlie Mae Thompson; four nieces, three nephews, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
