Allie C. Black age 83 of Lynchburg departed this life on November 16, 2016 with her loving children and family by her bedside. She was born on May 29, 1933 in Bedford, County, Virginia to the late James Campbell and the late Lucille Campbell Saunders. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Henry Black and an infant son, Charlie Nichols, Jr.

She was a current member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a previous member of Antioch Baptist Church, Peaksville section of Bedford County.

She is survived by three children, Colonel (Retired) Deacon Larry Eugene Campbell (Marita), Durham, North Carolina, Darlene Herndon, Lynchburg, Va. and David Nichols (Maria), Fort Lauderdale, Florida; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two sisters: Mary Hannah Johnson ( Clyde), Bedford, VA, Sereina Paynter, Bedford, VA., a brother, Paul Levere (Sandra), Maryland and one aunt, Mary Lucinda Mitchell of Maryland; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Megginson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Bedford Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home. 540-586-9167.
